This is the million dollar question everyone is asking.
What is the bluest spruce?
The funny part about it is that everyone is so passionate about it that makes it hard to really know the truth, so this year I went to garden centers around my area and started taking pictures of all the grafted blue spruce and I could find. I had worked with Bizon nursery so I wanted to make sure I wasn\'t being prejudiced since many people feel this is the bluest spruce on the market.  I figure the only thing that can get to the bottom of this is my trusty Nikon.
Here are my unoffial findings(I am going to post my findings after I get the photos organized)
Here are my unscientific findings.
I think Bizon blue is the  be the bluest. The Bob\'s Blue from Woodburn was about as blue.  Fat Albert a few shade less blue.
On a side note people keep saying the baby blue eyes is a favorite because it doesn\'t get very big but I notice the leader on the baby blue eyes and the Bizon blue are identical.  I also have heard reports of his 12 foot tree being 18 foot out in Oregon already. The ones I found in the garden center were a shade less blue than the Bob\'s blue and Bizon blue.
I would love to hear everyones opinion.

I was looking at the newspaper today and was realizing how many ads appear daily from garden centers and landscapers.I know these must be doing some good or no one would be spending the money.
Then I read this from Editor and Publisher
The newspaper industry has experienced the worst drop in advertising revenue in more than 50 years. (see full article link at bottom)

Internet ad revenue in 2007 grew 18.8% to $3.2 billion compared to 2006. In 2006, online ad revenue had soared 31.4% to $2.6 billion. In 2005, it jumped 31.4% to $2 billion.

This is also one of the least expensive forms of advertising. People are still reading newspapers but even the online versions are growing while regular delivery is in decline.
We have someone in our area who started a website called www.Ishopstark.com  .
All they have on their site is local businesses with specials.People go on there everyday to see whats new and download their coupons.
Things are changing fast.

Well, in Ohio we are very excited about spring hitting a little early. This time last year there was 2\' of snow and temperatures in the teens. This year we have had no freezing temps since late march.(It\'s not over yet)
One added bonus is traffic in the garden centers. With the challenges we face in this struggling economy this could make a big difference. A good spring in a bad economy sure beats a bad spring in a good economy.Let\'s keep our fingers crossed.
