Common Name: Siberian Fir
Abies sibirica is an outstanding evergreen tree flaunting its soft, flattened, highly fragrant light green needle-like leaves with two grey-white streaked underside. Smooth bark is grey-green to grey-brown with resin blisters. Attractive buds are yellow-grey and resinous. Cylindrical cones are bluish to brown when ripen and turn dark brown in mid autumn with small bracts. Once cone breaks up after maturity, seeds released. This hybrid is normally grows 40 ft tall by 15 ft wide in conical crown form. It performs best in rich, moist, well-drained soil in dappled shade location. A great selection for specimen, mixed border and rock garden.
