Common Name: Vanessa Persian Ironwood
Vanessa' is a rare, more upright-growing form of the better known shrub, Parrotia persica 'Select'. The leaves on this fine selection turn vivid red and gold in early fall. Spidery crimson flowers bloom on the bare winter branches and remain through early spring. Like the species, the bark of 'Vanessa' will flake when the tree is well established.
