Cytisus scoparius ‘Lena’ is a compact, mounded to arching deciduous shrub valued for its profuse bicolor flowers of golden yellow with orange to red shading that cover the stems in late spring, creating a vibrant display, with fine green stems that are distinctly ridged with narrow, flattened “wings” (thin leaf-like extensions along the stems) adding texture, and light green foliage that may take on soft yellow tones in fall.
