Tradescantia 'Concord Grape
Concord Grape Spiderwort
Concord Grape spiderwort (Tradescantia ‘Concord Grape’) pairs blue-green, blade-like foliage with rich purple flowers and bright yellow stamens. The three-petaled blooms create a vivid contrast against the leafy clump.
Each flower is short-lived, but successive buds extend the early- to midsummer display. The arching foliage softens border edges and containers; tired growth can be cut back after flowering to encourage a fresh flush.
Provide moist, well-drained soil. It tolerates a range from sun to shade, with adequate moisture especially important in sunny positions. Water regularly during establishment and prolonged dry spells.
