Miscanthus sinensis ‘Strictus’, commonly known as Porcupine Maiden Grass, is a warm-season ornamental grass valued for its bold, upright habit and distinctive banded foliage. Narrow green leaves marked with horizontal golden-yellow bands emerge in spring, remain upright through summer, and develop warm tan tones in fall, followed by coppery-pink plumes in late summer to fall that mature to silvery-tan and persist into winter. Its strong vertical form and unique striping make it a standout in the landscape.
