Hydrangea paniculata ‘Grandiflora’ — commonly called Pee Gee hydrangea — is a large, old-fashioned panicle hydrangea valued for its big conical flower clusters that open creamy white in summer and often age blush pink into fall. This deciduous shrub or small tree has a vigorous, upright habit, blooms on new wood, and is especially useful where a bold summer-flowering specimen, hedge, or trained tree form is wanted.

Features & Landscape Uses:
Large showy white panicles aging pink; blooms from about July into September; excellent as a specimen, hedge, screening plant, or small tree form; flowers are useful fresh or dried; tolerates urban conditions well.

Care:
Prune in late winter to early spring since it flowers on current season’s growth. It may be kept smaller with regular pruning, often around 6–10 ft in shrub form. Plant in sun for strongest flowering and sturdier stems, with some afternoon shade helpful in hotter areas.
