Hydrangea serrata ‘Coerulea Lace’ is a deciduous shrub admired for its delicate lacecap flower heads with small fertile center flowers surrounded by pale blue to lavender sterile florets. This mountain hydrangea blooms in early to mid-summer, with flower color deepening to richer blue in acidic soils and shifting toward pink-lavender in more alkaline conditions. Its smaller leaves and finer texture give it a softer appearance than bigleaf hydrangeas.
