A cold-hardy, deciduous fruiting vine, Actinidia kolomikta ‘September Sun’ is valued for its small, smooth-skinned kiwi fruit that ripen earlier than many hardy kiwi varieties. The fruit is sweet and aromatic, and can be eaten whole without peeling. This selection is well-suited to colder climates and produces attractive green foliage (less variegated than male forms). A male Arctic kiwi (such as ‘Pasha’) is required for pollination and fruit production.
