A compact, deciduous small tree or large shrub, Lagerstroemia ‘Tonto’ is known for its vivid, bright red flower clusters that bloom in mid to late summer. The dense panicles provide long-lasting color, while the smooth, exfoliating bark reveals subtle tan and gray tones. Glossy green foliage turns shades of orange and red in fall. Part of the U.S. National Arboretum series, this cultivar offers strong resistance to powdery mildew and excellent performance in heat and humidity.
