Liriodendron tulipifera ‘Arnold’ (Arnold Tulip Tree / Columnar Tulip Tree) is a narrow, deciduous tree with a strongly upright, columnar to fastigiate habit, featuring distinctive four-lobed green leaves that turn clear yellow in fall. Tulip-shaped greenish-yellow flowers with orange markings appear on mature trees in late spring to early summer. This cultivar is especially valued for its tight form, making it useful where the species would be too broad.

Excellent for narrow lawns, vertical accents, and tighter residential or commercial spaces. It offers the distinctive foliage, flowers, and yellow fall color of tulip tree in a much slimmer profile than the species. Columnar tulip tree cultivars such as ‘Arnold’ are described as narrow forms around 15' wide while still reaching 50' or more in height.

Care:
Plant in full sun for best growth and fall color. Provide deep, well-drained soil and regular water during establishment. Minimal pruning is usually needed beyond structural shaping when young. As with tulip trees generally, avoid overly dry or compacted sites.
