Liriope muscari ‘Royal Purple’ (Lilyturf) is an evergreen, clump-forming perennial with arching, strap-like dark green foliage and dense spikes of rich purple to dark purple flowers in late summer to early fall. It is valued for its neat, grassy texture, dependable bloom, and usefulness as an edging, massing, and groundcover plant. Black berries may follow the flowers and add a bit of seasonal interest.
