Morden's Pink Loosestrife

Lythrum virgatum ‘Morden’s Pink’ (Morden’s Pink Loosestrife) is an upright perennial with a narrow, clump-forming to slowly spreading habit, featuring lance-shaped green foliage and tall spires of soft rosy-pink flowers in midsummer to late summer. It is valued for its strong vertical color and performance in moist soils, though plants sold as ‘Morden’s Pink’ have been reported to vary somewhat in habit and fertility.

USDA Zones: 4a–9b
Form: Upright, clump-forming to slowly spreading

Features & Landscape Uses:
Excellent for rain gardens, moist borders, pond or stream edges, and naturalistic plantings. The tall pink flower spikes provide strong vertical interest and long summer color.

Care:
Grow in full sun for best flowering and keep soil evenly moist. Divide or thin as needed if clumps expand. Use caution near natural wet areas, since “Morden Pink” has at times been marketed as sterile, but reliable sources note it may interbreed with related loosestrifes and produce seed under some conditions.
