Magnolia ‘Butterflies’ (Yellow Magnolia) is a deciduous small tree with an upright, pyramidal to broadly upright habit, featuring medium green foliage and large, upright, tulip-shaped canary-yellow flowers with a light lemon fragrance that appear in mid-spring before the leaves emerge. It is considered one of the better yellow magnolia selections and is especially valued for its clear flower color and elegant bloom form.

Features & Landscape Uses:
Excellent as a specimen tree, accent tree, or focal point in smaller landscapes. The upright yellow blooms are held above bare branches before leaf-out, creating a very clean spring display. It also tolerates urban conditions and works well where a smaller flowering tree is needed.

Care:
Plant in full sun to part shade in fertile, well-drained soil with even moisture during establishment. Avoid wet or poorly drained sites, which can reduce performance. Prune only as needed after flowering
