Acer cappadocicum (Cappadocian Maple) is a handsome deciduous shade tree native to the Caucasus and western Asia, valued for its large leaves, strong form, and adaptability. Leaves are broad and five-lobed, emerging bright green in spring and maturing to deep green in summer before turning clear yellow to yellow-orange in fall.

The tree develops a rounded to spreading crown with sturdy branching and a calm, architectural presence. Growth is moderate, and mature trees provide good canopy without excessive brittleness.

Acer cappadocicum performs well in full sun to partial shade and prefers moist, well-drained soils, but it adapts to a range of conditions once established. It shows good tolerance to urban environments and is relatively wind resistant. Hardy in USDA Zones 5–8.
