Acer negundo ‘Variegatum’ (Variegated Boxelder) is a fast-growing deciduous maple valued for its cream-white–margined foliage and light, airy appearance. The compound leaves emerge green with bold white edges, often flushed with pink in spring, then mature to a clean green-and-cream variegation through summer.

It develops a broad, irregular to rounded crown with an open habit, creating dappled shade and strong visual contrast in the landscape. Growth is rapid, and the tree is adaptable to a wide range of conditions.

‘Variegatum’ thrives in full sun to partial shade (best variegation in sun) and adapts to many soil types, including clay, as long as drainage is adequate. It tolerates urban conditions, wind, and periodic drought once established. Hardy in USDA Zones 3–8.
