Magnolia grandiflora ‘D.D. Blanchard’ (D.D. Blanchard Southern Magnolia) is a broadleaf evergreen tree with a dense, upright-pyramidal to broadly oval habit, featuring large, glossy dark green leaves with especially showy rusty-brown undersides. Huge, creamy white, lemon-fragrant flowers appear from late spring into summer, giving it the classic Southern magnolia look. This cultivar is especially valued for its handsome foliage, strong form, and use as a specimen or evergreen screen.

Care:
Plant in full sun to part shade in well-drained soil with room to mature. Water regularly during establishment, then during prolonged dry periods. Prune only as needed to shape when young or remove damaged branches. Avoid chronically wet, poorly drained sites.
