Achillea Millefolium 'Summer Wine'

'Summer Wine' Yarrow

Achillea millefolium ‘Summer Wine’ is a bold, richly colored perennial yarrow valued for its deep wine-red to burgundy flower clusters that hold their color well throughout the bloom period. Flat-topped blooms rise above finely divided, aromatic gray-green foliage, creating strong contrast and a dramatic garden presence.

Blooming from early to mid-summer, with additional flowering encouraged by deadheading, ‘Summer Wine’ forms a sturdy, upright clump and generally resists flopping better than older red yarrow varieties. The flowers are long-lasting in the garden and excellent for cut and dried arrangements.

Thriving in full sun and well-drained soil, it is heat and drought tolerant once established and performs best in lean soils. Hardy in USDA Zones 4–8, it is also deer resistant and pollinator friendly.

Mature size:

Height: 24–30 in

Width: 18–24 in

Ideal for perennial borders, mass plantings, pollinator gardens, and cutting gardens, Achillea ‘Summer Wine’ is prized for its rich color, upright habit, and dependable summer bloom.
