Magnolia Galaxy

Magnolia ‘Galaxy’ (Galaxy Magnolia) is a deciduous small tree with a narrow, upright-pyramidal habit when young, becoming more broadly pyramidal with age. It produces large, fragrant rose-pink to reddish-purple flowers on bare branches in late spring, usually after many earlier magnolias have finished, which helps reduce frost damage to the blooms. This U.S. National Arboretum hybrid is especially valued for its strong tree form, ascending branching, and striking floral display.

Plant in a protected site with fertile, well-drained soil. Water regularly during establishment and mulch to keep roots cool and evenly moist. Prune only if needed just after flowering, since magnolias generally need minimal shaping.
