Corylus Av Red Majestic
Red Harry Lauder's Walking Stick
Botanical name: Corylus avellana ‘Red Majestic’
Overview
A dramatic ornamental contorted hazelnut prized for its twisting, sculptural branches and deep purple foliage. In late winter, reddish catkins dangle from the branches, adding early-season interest before leaf-out. Leaves emerge burgundy-purple, holding color through much of the growing season before turning bronze to reddish tones in fall. ‘Red Majestic’ provides year-round architectural appeal, especially in winter.
