Miscanthus sinensis ‘Gold Bar’ is a compact, warm-season ornamental grass valued for its bold, horizontally banded foliage and tidy, upright habit. Narrow green leaves marked with bright golden-yellow bands emerge in spring, hold their striking pattern through summer, and turn warm tan in fall, while reddish flower plumes may appear in late summer in favorable conditions and mature to silvery-tan. Its smaller size and bold striping make it an excellent accent in modern plantings.
