Lysimachia nummularia ‘Aurea’ (Golden Creeping Jenny) is a fast-spreading perennial groundcover with a trailing, mat-forming habit. It features small, rounded golden-yellow leaves that brighten shady edges and spill beautifully over walls, containers, and rockwork. Small cup-shaped yellow flowers appear from late spring into summer. This cultivar is especially valued for its vivid foliage color, which is strongest in brighter light and becomes more lime-green in shade.

Features & Landscape Uses:
Excellent for groundcover, edging, between stepping stones, containers, and spilling over walls or pond edges. Its bright golden foliage lights up darker areas and provides strong contrast with green-leaved companions. It roots where stems touch soil and can spread quickly, so it works best where that spread is welcome or can be managed. Missouri Botanical Garden also notes it is considered invasive in parts of North America.

Care:
Grow in sun to part shade in evenly moist soil for best appearance. Trim or thin as needed to control spread. Best gold foliage color develops in fuller sun, while shadier sites produce greener foliage. Avoid letting it run into nearby natural areas.
