Pinus Contorta 'Willow Creek'
Willow Creek Lodgepole Pine
Willow Creek Lodgepole Pine (Pinus contorta ‘Willow Creek’) forms a small, dense pyramid of rich green needles. Its compact branching originated in a witch’s-broom mutation, which gives this selection a much tighter framework than an ordinary lodgepole pine.
The regular shape suits a focal position among lower plants. It can supply the look of a miniature evergreen tree without relying on repeated clipping to create its basic outline.
Choose a sunny position with soil that drains freely. Water during establishment and leave enough room for the branches to develop without crowding.
