Pinus Leucodermis 'Compact Gem'

Compact Gem Bosnian Pine

Pinus heldreichii ‘Compact Gem’
Compact Gem Bosnian Pine has a dense upright framework clothed in long dark green needles. Its measured growth produces a well-filled crown with a strong evergreen presence.

This selection remains smaller than a full-size Bosnian pine but continues to grow into a substantial tree. Allow space around its base instead of treating it as a permanently small shrub.

Plant in full sun with well-drained soil. Water the root zone during establishment and leave room for the branches to develop. A site with cool summers generally suits this pine better than prolonged hot, humid conditions.

Approximate garden size
• Width: 8 ft; larger with age
• Height: 12 ft; larger with age
These are planning estimates for an established garden plant, commonly reached in 10–25 years, rather than final mature limits.

Hardiness
• Hardy to USDA Zone 5; local summer conditions also affect suitability.
