Pinus Luecodermis Mint Truffle
Mint Truffle Bosnian Pine
Pinus heldreichii ‘Mint Truffle’
Mint Truffle Bosnian Pine has dense green foliage that covers the shoots closely. Gently inward-curving branches create a full, broad crown with a softly pointed top.
Its restrained growth and even outline make it useful as an evergreen anchor in a mixed planting. It still needs room to become a substantial tree with age.
Plant in full sun with well-drained soil. Water the root zone during establishment and leave room for the branches to develop. A site with cool summers generally suits this pine better than prolonged hot, humid conditions.
Approximate garden size
• Width: 8 ft; larger with age
• Height: 12 ft; larger with age
These are planning estimates for an established garden plant, commonly reached in 10–25 years, rather than final mature limits.
Hardiness
• Hardy to USDA Zone 5; local summer conditions also affect suitability.
