Pinus Mugo Mitsch Mini

Mitsch Mini Mugho Pine

Pinus mugo ‘Mitsch Mini’
Mitsch Mini Mugo Pine builds a low cushion from many short shoots and slightly twisted needles. Its close branching creates an even green surface, with pale waxy buds adding a frosted accent.

Very slow growth makes it useful in troughs, containers and carefully arranged rock gardens. Keep surrounding plants low enough that this miniature remains visible.

Plant in full sun with well-drained soil. Water the root zone during establishment and leave room for the branches to develop. A site with cool summers generally suits this pine better than prolonged hot, humid conditions.

Approximate garden size
• Width: 2 ft; larger with age
• Height: 1 ft; larger with age
These are planning estimates for an established garden plant, commonly reached in 10–25 years, rather than final mature limits.

Hardiness
• Hardy to USDA Zone 2; local summer conditions also affect suitability.
