Pinus Pumila Blue Dwarf
Blue Dwarf Japanese Stone Pine
Pinus pumila ‘Blue Dwarf’
Blue Dwarf Japanese Stone Pine carries densely arranged, twisted blue-green needles on spreading branches. Colorful developing cones provide an additional spring accent among the foliage.
The plant becomes distinctly wider than tall. Its low evergreen mass works well among rocks or at the front of a generous bed where neighboring plants will not crowd it.
Plant in full sun with well-drained soil. Water the root zone during establishment and leave room for the branches to develop.
Approximate garden size
• Width: 6 ft; larger with age
• Height: 3 ft; larger with age
These are planning estimates for an established garden plant, commonly reached in 10–25 years, rather than final mature limits.
