Pinus Strobus Niagra Falls
Niagara Falls White Pine
Pinus strobus ‘Niagara Falls’
Niagara Falls Eastern White Pine produces many hanging branches covered with long, two-tone needles. The dense, cascading growth gives it a flowing outline that is wider than tall.
Each specimen develops its own arrangement of draping stems. Use it as a focal point with open ground around the base so the lower branches can remain visible.
Choose a sunny site with moist, well-drained, acidic soil. Keep it away from road-salt spray and water regularly while the roots establish.
Approximate garden size
• Width: 10 ft; larger with age
• Height: 6 ft; larger with age
These are planning estimates for an established garden plant, commonly reached in 10–25 years, rather than final mature limits.
Hardiness
• Hardy to USDA Zone 3; local summer conditions also affect suitability.
