A magnificent, deciduous, small tree that grows 30 ft tall at maturity and spreads 25 ft wide in a dense, spreading, horizontal branching habit. It features large, striking, creamy-white flower bracts that fade to pink as they mature. Blooms in late winter to mid spring and captivates butterflies and bees. Elongated, dark green foliage surrounded with slightly rippled, creamy white margins turn dark pink to red and maroon in fall.  A dreary red fruit emerges in fall that fascinates birds. Best grown in full sun exposure but tolerates moderate sunlight in rich, moist, well-drained soil. Samaritan dogwood is best for a mixed border and as a feature plant.
