Sisyrinchium Angustifolium 'Lucerne'
Lucerne Blue Eyed Grass
Lucerne blue-eyed grass (Sisyrinchium angustifolium ‘Lucerne’) makes a neat clump of narrow, dark green leaves. Small blue-purple, star-shaped flowers open above the foliage in late spring and early summer.
Despite its grassy appearance, this perennial belongs to the iris family. The clump slowly thickens, making it useful for a low edging, a small-scale groundcover, or a rock garden with dependable moisture.
Grow in full sun or partial shade in moist, well-drained soil. Do not allow new plants to dry out during establishment. Occasional flowers may follow the main seasonal display.
