Vinca Minor 'Bowles Variety' Aka. 'La Grave'
Periwinkle, Myrtle (AKA Bowlesii, La Grave)
Bowles’s Periwinkle (Vinca minor ‘Bowles’s Variety’), also called La Grave, combines dark green evergreen leaves with violet-blue flowers. The blooms are roughly an inch across and sit clearly against the close-textured foliage.
Its vigorous stems spread into a broad mat, providing a continuous covering beneath larger plants or across a bank. Give the patch room to develop, and keep its margins trimmed where it meets smaller perennials or a path.
Plant in sun or shade in soil that does not become excessively dry. Brighter sites favor flowering. Check the edges regularly because the rooting stems can spread beyond the space allotted.
