Acer oliverianum (Oliver’s Maple) is a lesser-known deciduous maple native to China, valued for its attractive foliage, graceful habit, and reliable fall color. Leaves are typically three- to five-lobed, emerging fresh green in spring, remaining clean through summer, and turning yellow, orange, and red in autumn.

The tree develops an upright to rounded form with fine branching and a light, elegant canopy. Growth is moderate, and the overall appearance is refined rather than coarse, making it suitable for smaller landscapes and collector gardens.

Acer oliverianum grows best in full sun to partial shade and prefers moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil. It benefits from protection from extreme heat and drying winds and performs best in cooler, temperate climates. Hardy in USDA Zones 5–8.
