Acer palmatum ‘Aureo-variegatum’ is a striking variegated Japanese maple prized for its golden-yellow and creamy-white leaf markings that brighten shaded gardens. Leaves emerge soft green with irregular yellow to cream variegation, often flushed with pink in spring. Variegation remains attractive through summer, and fall color shifts to warm tones of yellow, orange, and soft red.

This cultivar develops an upright to rounded habit with graceful branching and a refined presence. Growth is moderate, and its lighter foliage color makes it an excellent contrast plant among darker-leaved shrubs and evergreens.
