Pinus Parviflora Tenysu Kazu

Japanese Snow Pine

Pinus parviflora ‘Goldilocks’
Tenysu-kazu Japanese White Pine (also sold as Goldilocks) combines curved green needles with soft golden highlights and silver undertones. Its sweeping, irregular branches give each plant an individual outline.

The foliage color benefits from a balanced position with sun and some shade. Use it as a specimen where the curved branches and mixed needle colors can be viewed closely.

Plant in sun or light shade with well-drained soil. Water the root zone during establishment and leave room for the branches to develop. A site with cool summers generally suits this pine better than prolonged hot, humid conditions.

Approximate garden size
• Width: 6 ft; larger with age
• Height: 8 ft; larger with age
These are planning estimates for an established garden plant, commonly reached in 10–25 years, rather than final mature limits.

Hardiness
• Hardy to USDA Zone 5; local summer conditions also affect suitability.
