Abies lasiocarpa ‘Arizonica Nana’ is a compact, dwarf form of subalpine fir valued for its soft, silvery-blue needles and dense, symmetrical habit. The short needles are heavily glaucous, giving the plant a cool blue to blue-gray appearance that holds year-round.

Slow growing and naturally well-branched, it develops a rounded to low-pyramidal form, staying neat with little to no pruning. Compared to standard subalpine fir, ‘Arizonica Nana’ offers the same refined texture and color in a much smaller, landscape-friendly size.

Best grown in full sun to partial shade and moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soils, it prefers cooler climates and consistent moisture. Hardy in USDA Zones 4–7, this cultivar is ideal for rock gardens, foundation plantings, mixed conifer beds, and specimen use, where its intense blue color and compact habit can be fully appreciated.
