Karl Rosenfield Garden Peony

Paeonia lactiflora ‘Karl Rosenfield’ is a classic herbaceous perennial peony with large, fully double, bright crimson-red flowers. The outer petals are broad and waved, while the inner petals are incurved and notched, giving the bloom a full, ruffled look. It blooms in midseason on tall, strong stems above clean, dark green foliage. The American Peony Society describes it as free-flowering, reliable, not fragrant, and excellent for both cutting and garden display.

Care:
Plant peony eyes about 1–2 inches below the soil surface; planting too deeply can reduce flowering. Provide good air circulation and water at the base when possible. Remove spent flowers after bloom, but leave foliage through summer to feed the roots. Cut stems to the ground after frost in fall and remove old foliage from the garden. Peonies are long-lived and usually do not need frequent division.
