A dense, dwarf ornamental crabapple usually grown as a small tree, with bright red buds that open to single white flowers in early spring, followed by small red fruit and yellow fall color. It has a compact, spreading to somewhat pendulous habit and is especially useful where a very small crabapple is needed. Monrovia lists it at about 5' tall by 6' wide, while other nursery references commonly place it closer to 6–8' tall and 8–10' wide at maturity, so size can vary some by training and site.
