Spring Snow Crabapple

Malus ‘Spring Snow’ is a deciduous flowering crabapple tree with red buds that open to abundant fragrant white spring flowers, clean green foliage, yellow fall color, and a nearly fruitless to fruitless habit. Its dense upright-oval form and lack of messy fruit make it especially useful near patios, walks, and other high-visibility spaces.

Features & Landscape Uses: Excellent as a specimen tree, lawn tree, patio tree, or street-side accent where showy white bloom is wanted without fruit drop. Its clean habit and near-sterile character are its biggest landscape advantages. Disease resistance is generally rated fair for scab and fire blight, and good for rust and mildew, so it performs best in sunny sites with good air movement.

Care: Plant in full sun with good air circulation and well-drained soil. Water regularly while establishing, then during dry spells as needed. Prune mainly to maintain structure and remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches. Because it is not among the most scab-resistant crabapples, avoid crowded, slow-drying sites when possible.
