Miscanthus sinensis ‘Graziella’

A clump-forming ornamental grass with narrow, arching green leaves and an elegant fountain-like habit. It is especially valued for flowering a bit earlier than many other Miscanthus sinensis cultivars, producing large silvery-white plumes in late summer to early fall that rise above the foliage, followed by coppery to orange-red fall color and good winter presence.

Features & Landscape Uses: Excellent for screens, mixed borders, mass plantings, and specimen use where a taller, graceful grass is wanted. ‘Graziella’ is often described as more compact and earlier blooming than some older maiden grass cultivars, with plumes that hold well and foliage that develops warm copper tones in fall. 

Care: Plant in full sun for the strongest habit and best flowering. Cut the clump back in late winter or very early spring before new growth begins. As with other maiden grasses, give it room for air circulation and watch for unwanted seedlings if grown in areas where self-sowing is an issue.
