Molinia caerulea ssp. arundinacea ‘Skyracer’ is a tall, airy ornamental perennial grass with a low mound of narrow green to blue-green foliage and very tall, slender flower stems that rise high above the clump. In midsummer through early fall, fine purple-tinged flower panicles create a transparent, see-through effect rather than a dense plume. The foliage and stems turn golden-yellow to tawny in fall, giving excellent late-season and winter texture.
