Monarda didyma ‘Jacob Cline’ is a vigorous herbaceous perennial bee balm with aromatic green foliage and large, brilliant scarlet-red tubular flowers held in shaggy, rounded heads above dark bracts. Blooming from early summer into midsummer, it is one of the showiest red bee balms and is especially valued for attracting hummingbirds. It has better powdery mildew resistance than many older Monarda selections, though it still performs best with good air circulation and steady moisture.

Care:
Plant in rich, evenly moist soil with good air circulation. Avoid drought stress, which can increase mildew issues. Deadhead after flowering for a cleaner appearance and possible rebloom. Divide every few years in spring if clumps become crowded or begin to thin in the center.
