Rudbeckia L. 'Herbstonne' Aka.' Autumn Sun'
Autumn Sun Coneflower, Black-eyed Susan, Herbstonne Black-eyed Susan
Autumn Sun Coneflower (Rudbeckia ‘Herbstsonne’) lifts golden daisies high above a perennial border. The flowers have pale, greenish centers, giving them a fresher, lighter look than the dark-eyed blooms of many other rudbeckias.
Branching stems build a substantial, upright clump that suits the back of a bed. Its summer and fall display can bring a warm band of color above shorter flowers, while the height makes it especially useful in generous cottage or prairie-style plantings.
Provide sun or light shade and soil that holds some moisture without staying waterlogged. Water new plants regularly while roots establish.
