Snow Heath
Snow heath is a slow growing evergreen shrub that grows 8-15 inches tall and spread 24 inches wide. It features lanceolate, scale-like leaves and striking red flowers on sturdy terminal raceme from mid winter through early spring. Flowers have five, lanceolate to ovate, glandular pubescent sepals. The lovely flowers are subtended by long, remarkable overlapping strip bracts that protect the flowers. It enjoys full amount of sun but tolerates partial sun in a wide range of rich, moist, fertile soil with average drainage. Suitable for border, masses, beds, containers or specimen.
