Tradescantia 'Zwanenburg Blue'
Spiderwort
Zwanenburg Blue Spiderwort (Tradescantia ‘Zwanenburg Blue’) brings rich blue flowers to a tufted clump of green foliage. Each bloom has three broad petals gathered around a small cluster of yellow stamens, a simple shape with a striking color contrast.
Slightly fleshy leaves soften the outline of the plant beneath its summer and fall flowers. The compact clump works well among perennials with broad leaves, or in a container where the individual blooms can be appreciated up close.
Provide fertile soil that stays evenly moist while draining freely. Sun encourages flowers; some afternoon shade is helpful where summers are hot. Cut back flowered stems to encourage fresh growth.
