Viola Pedata

Bird-foot violet (Viola pedata) has finely divided leaves and low flowers in blue-violet shades. It favors sharply drained, sandy or gravelly ground and needs a more carefully chosen site than many common garden violets.

The plant develops clumping growth. Growth is moderate. The leaves are shed for winter.

Choose a site in full sun or partial shade. Provide acidic, well-drained soil and maintain even moisture. Drainage is especially important for successful establishment.
