Little Bluestem Blue Heaven'
Blue Heaven Little Bluestem brings strong vertical lines and changing color to a grass planting. Its tall, upright clump carries dark blue and burgundy tones in summer, then shifts through purple and red as autumn develops.
Flowers appear in late summer and early fall, while the seasonal color can continue into winter. The selection was developed at the University of Minnesota and is also identified by the cultivar name MinnBlueA.
Use a sunny, dry site where its narrow outline and foliage can be seen clearly. Repeating the clumps through a border or prairie-style planting emphasizes their color and upright rhythm.
