Pond Cypress

Pond Cypress carries fine, upright leafy branchlets on a tall, narrow framework. Its short, awl-shaped leaves are bright green during the growing season and turn brown before dropping in fall.

The slender outline contrasts with the thick, furrowed bark that develops on the trunk. This deciduous conifer is useful where a strong vertical tree is wanted without the broad crown of many large shade trees.

Plant in full sun, preferably in moist acidic soil. It can also grow on suitable upland sites.
