Red Carpet Barberry

Red Carpet Barberry features roundly oval bright orange leaves in spring turning burgundy at maturity. Branches are spiky, slender and small. Inconspicuous yellow flowers emerge underneath leaves in mid spring followed by showy red berries. Attractive to wildlife. This deciduous shrub grows 24 inches tall and spread 30 inches wide in round, mounding habit. Full sun to partial shade is needed for best growth. It prefers rich,moist, well-drained soil. Excellent choice for mass planting, hedges and screen.
