Santolina Gray

Gray Santolina makes a rounded mound of finely divided, silvery foliage. The small leaves have a strong scent when handled and provide a pale contrast beside greener plants.

Golden-yellow flower buttons stand above the mound in summer. The plant works as a low edging or repeated accent, although older specimens can open in the middle and may eventually need replacement.

Give it full sun and sharply drained soil, including sandy sites. Avoid excessive fertilizer and trim after flowering to maintain a tidy outline. Established plants tolerate drought and salt exposure.
