Spirea bumalda Firelight
Firelight Spirea
Firelight Spirea carries the border through several color changes. Emerging leaves lend bronze and muted red tones to spring growth, then settle into green as the season advances. Rosy flower clusters brighten the branch tips in summer.
Its leafy, bushy framework makes an appealing companion for plants with finer foliage. The display continues after flowering, when the leaves develop reddish-purple autumn color before dropping.
Plant in sun or light shade, in soil that retains some moisture but drains freely. This adaptable shrub fits readily among perennials and other flowering shrubs.
